Reviews for History & Houses of Yorkshire
Thank you very much for putting together an excellent itinerary for us in York and Yorkshire. The hotel was excellent and well situated. They worked very hard to make us comfortable, the breakfast and evening meals were plentiful, well presented and tasty. Our Blue Badge guide was as we have come to expect from these guides very good. She was charming, patient, unflappable and very knowledgeable - we thoroughly enjoyed having her with us for 3 days and she took the pressure of me!!!! Everything worked like clockwork - as usual. A wonderful trip, full on and enjoyed by everyone - it was wonderful to be together again - like it was before Covid. Thank you all very much for all your hard work, it is very much appreciated. Best wishes,

We had a lovely week in Yorkshire. The hotel was great. Harrogate is such a nice town and our visits to Fountains Abbey, Harewood House were most interesting. The free time in York was enjoyed by everyone. Our guide took us through the Hambledon Hills to Whitby through some beautiful scenery, then it was time for the best fish and chips! Everyone enjoyed the train ride to Pickering. Our driver Derick couldn't have been more helpful. All my ladies are now asking were we are going next year! Anyway Jana thanks for all you did to make our holiday so enjoyable.

We have returned from Yorkshire having had a splendid trip. The weather was gorgeous, everything worked well and it was organised brilliantly. Our blue badge guide was excellent. She was a lovely woman who knew her stuff and was so warm and friendly. The driver was also excellent, a safe and skilful driver which is so important. I have had good feedback from everyone on the trip so far. Thanks so much for your contribution to the organisation of such a memorable trip.

The tour to Yorkshire was excellent and altogether a great success. We were very lucky with the weather and saw some fantastic galleries and places. It seems that everybody has very much enjoyed the tour. Andy, our driver, proved to be absolutely brilliant. Our Blue Badge Guide was first class. Her overall knowledge of the area, together with her infectious enthusiasm for the region made her a perfect companion.

Our group enjoyed an absolutely wonderful trip to Yorkshire last week and I would like to thank your staff for the excellent support I received throughout the whole process of planning and organising the holiday with great attention to detail. I find it impossible to select a day to highlight as every day was fascinating and immensely enjoyable. Our Blue Badge Guide proved a real asset and contributed greatly to the success of our trip. Her enthusiasm for Harrogate and Yorkshire was infectious and she shared her knowledge and love of local and social history, architecture, furniture, landscape and gardening with us in an engaging way. The hotel was a good choice for our group. Our coach driver Justina was excellent and to be congratulated on her calm driving and skilled negotiation of narrow country roads and tight turns. I would have no hesitation in highly recommending this trip to other groups and look forward to our next trip in October.

The heritage we saw on our tour to Yorkshire was enriched by the extensive knowledge of our Blue Badge Guide and the smooth journey was due to the professionalism of our bus driver. However the ultimate success of the trip was the result of the meticulous organisation of the tour by Tailored Travel and the daily attentiveness of our leader Halina.

I wanted to write to you and thank you for our marvellous holiday to Yorkshire. The itinerary was excellent with good variety and the detailed planning sheets were accurate and very supportive. We were very lucky with the weather, it only rained when we were in the coach! The coach and driver Eric were exceptional, he was a delight – wonderful driving and social, friendly and very helpful, and the request from all is that we have him again next year! Our Blue Badge Guide was a font of knowledge offering extra little guided tours as well as her main role. She was aware of the needs of a few older members of the group and offered alternatives to help them out. The hotel and facilities were excellent.

Very many thanks for all your help in making my last holiday for my U3A easy and care free. The Guide was excellent and we had a very good driver. Although the weather could have been better we all enjoyed the places of interest even though some did more exercise than they thought they could. We loved the hotel and the food and staff were excellent. THANK YOU, THANK YOU and I will come and see you sometime.

The Yorkshire trip was a great success, according to our members (I am not allowed an opinion as organiser!) and many thanks to you for your part. The timings were very good and the hotel in Harrogate looked after us well. We have a Committee meeting here shortly when we will discuss the away trip for next year.

I am writing to say how much the 28 of our members enjoyed our visit to Durham and North Yorkshire where we had a wonderful time. The itinerary proved to be first class and all visits and arrangements went very smoothly. The Blue Badge guide, Jan, was exceptionally good. The hotel was in an excellent position, comfortable rooms and the meals provided offered variety and were very good.
