Day 2 – Guided tour of Winchester, Winchester Cathedral & Jane Austen’s House Museum

Guided tour of Winchester takes in sights such as Queen Eleanor's Gardens, and a visit to the Great Hall, to see the table around which allegedly King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table met – originating back to the 7th century when a Christian church was first built on this site, Winchester Cathedral has played a fundamental part in the life of this ancient city and a role in the history of our nation – Jane Austen’s House Museum in Chawton is where the world-renowned author spent the last eight years of her life and where she wrote some of her most popular works.

Day 3 – Isle of Wight & Osborne House

Take a Wightlink ferry crossing from Portsmouth to Fishbourne for a scenic tour of the Isle of Wight taking in sights such as The Needles and Alum Bay – when Queen Victoria and Prince Albert bought Osborne House and its estate in 1845, the old house was demolished and a new three storey pavilion was built.

Reviews for The Isle of Wight, Winchester & the Mary Rose Museum

Date of tour: April 2018

I wanted to let you know that my group and I all enjoyed the trip to Winchester and the Isle of Wight and to thank you for all you all did for us. The driver and coach were perfect. Our guide was informed and amusing, very easy to get along with by a diverse group of women who are all well travelled and sophisticated in their choices. We were all very glad that we had a single base to go back to in the evening. Our schedule was well filled and we all looked forward to relaxing and not doing very much except to have dinner in the evening. The hotel is set in a beautiful and peaceful spot and as the daffodils were still out, the hotel surroundings and all the gardens of the houses we visited looked particularly fresh and beautiful. The weather was really good!!! which of course made everything look doubly attractive. So a big thank you to you and TT for arranging such an attractive and interesting tour for us. If we do another trip to the UK next year, I will certainly use TT!

Thank you very much indeed for another very successful trip. You very kindly arranged an overnight tour for us to the Historic Docks at Portsmouth and the Isle of Wight. It was the first time that we have tried an overnight UK tour, allowing us to go a little further afield and everyone wants another one next year. Becca was extremely good in arranging the tour, and we all look forward to our trip next year to Vienna.
