Day 1 – Crich Tramway Village
Board our private executive coach at your preferred pick up points – nestling high up in the heart of Derbyshire overlooking the famous Derwent Valley, Crich Tramway Village is a lovingly restored period village that is also home to the National Tramway Museum and its world renowned archives – check in at the 4* Park Royal Hotel at Stretton.
Day 2 – RHS Garden Bridgewater
A full day at RHS Garden Bridgewater, so named after the nearby canal – the Garden is the fifth RHS garden and at 156 acres is one of the largest gardening projects undertaken in Europe in recent years and brings back to life the lost historic grounds at Worsley New Hall in Salford – explore the kitchen, paradise and Chinese gardens, restored Victorian greenhouses and much more.
Day 3 – The Silk Museum and Paradise Mill & Quarry Bank Mill and Styal Estate
The Silk Museum and Paradise Mill reveals Macclesfield’s 300 year story as a global centre for silk production, textiles and design and a guided tour of the Paradise Mill offers a unique insight into mill life and silk production – the restored Georgian cotton mill at Quarry Bank Mill and Styal Estate near Wilmslow tells the story of ‘King Cotton’ from a bale of raw cotton to finished cloth, and the original Apprentice House recreates the 1830s atmosphere of the lives of child workers.
Day 4 – The Anderton Boat Lift Visitor Centre & The Lowry
A memorable boat trip along the River Weaver and through the Anderton Boat Lift, built by Edwin Clark in 1875 to lift cargo boats the 50 feet from the River Weaver to the Trent & Mersey Canal – set in a magnificent waterside location at the heart of the redeveloped Salford Quays, The Lowry houses the biggest public collection of works by LS Lowry with around 350 paintings and drawings, ranging across Lowry's artistic career.
Day 5 - Black Country Living Museum
The award winning Black Country Living Museum, with period shops and houses set in a landscape of 26 acres, offers a glimpse into 300 years of history and reveals what it was like to live and work in one of the world’s most industrialised landscapes.
