Suggested Itinerary

Day 1 – Mount Stewart House

Scheduled flight to Belfast from your preferred airport – the National Trust’s Mount Stewart House and Gardens offers magnificent views over Strangford Lough and its famous gardens were planted in the 1920s by Edith, Lady Londonderry – transfer to the 4* Dunadry Hotel.

Day 2 – Guided tour of Belfast & The Ulster Museum

Tour of Belfast with our guide taking in the Falls Road and Shankhill areas of the city, St Anne’s Cathedral and Stormont Castle – guided tour of The Ulster Museum, home to a rich collection split between floors of art, history and natural sciences and a section focusing on The Troubles.

Day 3 – Giant’s Causeway & Old Bushmills Distillery

Travel the North Antrim coastline – the National Trust’s Giant’s Causeway was formed from lava eruptions over 60 million years ago and with many rich traditions in explanation of its strange rock – optional guided tour and tasting at Old Bushmills Distillery, Ireland’s oldest whiskey distillery dating back to 1608.

Day 4 – Guided tour of Derry & Tower Museum

Guided tour of Derry takes in the Bogside and the City Walls, completed in 1618 and amongst the best preserved city fortifications in the Western world – the Tower Museum’s ‘Story of Derry’ studies the city’s history from the Plantation, through to the Siege of Derry and the city’s troubled political past, while ‘An Armada Shipwreck - La Trinidad Valencera’ tells the story of one of the largest ships in the Spanish Armada which sank off the Donegal Coast in 1588 – afternoon at leisure in Derry or join our optional train ride through wonderful scenery to Coleraine.

Day 5 – Titanic Experience

Titanic Experience is housed in a new £90m, six floor building as high as the world famous ship’s hull and located beside the historic site of its construction – this state of the art visitor experience tells the story of the Titanic, from its conception in Belfast in the early 1900s, through its construction and launch, to its famous maiden voyage and tragic end – transfer to the airport for our flight home.
