Reviews for Loch Lomond, Glasgow & Edinburgh

Date of Tour: June 2019

Everyone enjoyed their tour to Scotland very much. There were many highlights including the House for an Art Lover, Dumfries House and the trip on Loch Lomond. Of course, the excellent weather helped. Ken was an excellent Blue Badge Guide and we met Mike too for the National Portrait Gallery in Edinburgh. Thank you for the professional support I received throughout the planning and implementation of the trip. Despite several necessary changes to the original programme, the holiday was very successful.

We all had a great time in Scotland. The hotel was wonderful and perfectly adequate for our needs. The staff were more than helpful, obliging and pleasant. The rooms were, again, as you would expect and very clean. The food was varied and we never had the choice of the same thing twice, with the exception, of course, of breakfast. The breakfast buffet was always fresh and very extensive. Mike, our guide, was most pleasant, very knowledgeable and a pleasure to deal with. The coach was nearly new and the driver couldn’t have been better. All in all, a very successful break. Feel free to use me as a reference should other societies be considering this location.

The Guide we had on the trip to Glasgow, Edinburgh and Loch Lomond was excellent. His knowledge was first class and well presented. The Driver was one of the 'stars' of the trip. The whole holiday was very well organised.

This was our best Tailored Travel holiday ever. Despite some trepidation about the long journey to Glasgow, the coach driver made us feel relaxed and comfortable and the distance seemed to be covered with ease. He was outstanding. Visits were well chosen and the hotel was the most congenial we have experienced on a Tailored Travel Tour.

Just to let you know all went very well on our trip to Edinburgh. Members really liked the hotel. The staff were very helpful, the quality of the food very good for a three star hotel. The weather turned out to be excellent except for the last day. Amazing! Thanks again for your help. With very best wishes and Sue and I look forward to your help with our next TT holiday to Cambridge in May 2017.

I am so pleased to be able to write to you to say that following a meeting of those members who went on the Glasgow Tour, I am able to say it was unanimously agreed that it was a great success. Everything went to plan and Malcolm, the coach driver, and Mike, the Blue Badge guide were both exceptional. The hotel was comfortable and they were able to deal with events as they unfolded. The tour itself was brilliant, thank you. The mix of events was perfect and much appreciated by everyone. Thank you Sandy for your hard work in putting the tour together and particular thanks to Mike English for helping me to get them 'on board' at Euston. Everyone was so helpful.

Just a line to say how much my group enjoyed our trip to Glasgow - everything worked like a dream, and the timings were all excellent. Our guide was a real star, he had put in so much research to enhance our interests and even had little extra 'surprises' to round off the experience - a delightful man, well worth hanging on too! We arrived in Glasgow at 6.30 on Sunday, after 2 comfort stops and 3 hours at Dunham Massey - all very easy! Hotel was excellent, staff very friendly and our meals in the evening were tasty and well presented. Choice of 5 per course. So thank you very much for all your hard work on our behalf - we had a wonderful time and it is all very much appreciated.

Our members were very happy with their recent holiday to Glasgow and Loch Lomond. All the transport connections and pick-ups worked well - so a particular thank you to Sandy for making the arrangements. The Blue Badge guide Mike’s extensive knowledge, collection of tartan ties and humorous anecdotes added greatly to the enjoyment of the next few days, and passengers were equally impressed by driver Iain’s driving skills in some tight situations. The facilities of the hotel, and the wide range of included excursions meant that our members were comfortable and well satisfied at all times. So once again, thank you to Sandy and colleagues at TT for another good trip.

Just thought I would let you know we had a marvellous holiday in Scotland last week. Firstly we had the same coach driver that we had last year which was very nice. The Best Western at Drymen was brilliant, the food was excellent, the rooms great, and the staff were so friendly, and they were always on hand to help. Everyone enjoyed themselves immensely, and the weather was good. Thank you for organising such a great holiday for us, and our members are already talking about going to Norfolk next year, so I will be in touch. Thanks again.

32 KU3A members are back here in the South having enjoyed a pleasant few days in the North. The weather god was kind to us, your planning was excellent and the itinerary beautifully varied. Everyone enjoyed the trip. Eddie the driver could not have been more helpful. Our Blue Badge guide’s pleasant, friendly manner cheered everyone up. Over the three days he proved to be a brilliant guide, very interesting and informative without too many boring details (dates etc.). Food
