Reviews for Classical Italy & the Amalfi Coast

The holiday to the Amalfi Coast was excellent in every way. The hotel, superb, itinerary perfect, the guides delightful. Two hot days of 26 degrees to start then cooler days, one rainy day. I would like to say what was my favourite place but they all were, Herculaneum amazing. The hotel highly recommended, very nice staff. The guide who met us couldn't have been a pleasanter more helpful man, he made the trip complete. I am now on a roll, everyone asking what am I organizing next. Thank you for all your help with this lovely adventure.

The Amalfi trip was a great success and we had wonderful weather. Thank you so much for your organisation - as usual it was perfect. Everything went to plan except that we missed the Vesuvius visit as Veronica our guide felt that it would be too much for some of us... so I managed to get a ‘majority decision’ to miss that in exchange for a walking tour of Sorrento! At the hotel, there was an absolutely lovely garden with a swimming pool, with towels available and shower and toilets near the pool. The hotel was run by two sisters and a brother - it was opened in 1956 by their mother hence some rather old furniture and an ‘old fashioned’ feel - a complete contrast to last year’s hotel which was ultra-modern. The family and staff were extremely helpful and they could not do enough for us. The food was good but did not compare with last year’s which I think was exceptional. Once again Sandy thank you so much for your organisation, help and guidance - I hope we can work together again next year.

We had a great time in Sorrento, no glitches or problems, and the weather was fabulous all week. Ludo, the tour manager, was excellent, charmed the ladies, and kept us all on the straight and narrow, and was very responsive to individual needs. The guides you had arranged for us were also good, especially young Michael, who was with us for the last two days. The Hotel Central in Sorrento worked out very well for us - close to the centre of town, on the main route out to Naples so saving daily travelling time, nice staff, and excellent food. The inexpensive but good lunches arranged at local restaurants close to wherever we happened to be, were particularly appreciated and kept people going for what turned out to be quite long days out sight-seeing. The itinerary and programme of tours etc turned out to be just right, and we managed to fit in a few extra things, such as a swim in the sea near Paestum on Day 2. Having a 'free' day was good also, allowing people to do their own thing, though most opted to come to the mini conference we'd set up with the staff at the Aquarium in Naples. This was highly successful, partly as it involved a very enjoyable boat trip to get us there, set up by the tour manager, and a welcome change from the coach. So, basically, everyone was very happy with what you all at TT had arranged for us, and I'd like to thank you and the rest of the 'team' for being so good to work with and providing us with such a lovely and productive week away from home.

We have all returned safe and well after a very successful trip to Amalfi. There was an accident outside Sorrento resulting in a mega traffic jam. We finally arrived at the hotel at midnight to find that the dining room had stayed open for us and gave us a proper 3 course meal. The staff at the Delfino were outstanding and everyone loved the Hotel. The trip was a resounding success and both the programme and the guides were excellent. Your choice of restaurants met our expectations and so thank you very much indeed for putting together such an excellent package.
