Suggested Itinerary

Day 1 - Attingham Park

Board our private executive coach at your preferred pick up points – visit en route a suitable National Trust property such as Attingham Park in Shropshire, an elegant 18th century mansion, and home to a fine collection of ambassadorial silver, Italian furniture and Grand Tour paintings – check in at the 4* Park Royal Hotel in the village of Stretton.

Day 2 - Chester Cathedral & Pontcysyllte Aqueduct

Guided tour of Chester Cathedral, one of the best preserved examples of a Benedictine abbey in England – at Llangollen there is free time at leisure or an optional canal boat excursion through the beautiful Vale of Llangollen and across the famous Pontcysyllte Aqueduct built by Thomas Telford between 1795 and 1805.

Day 3 - Bodnant Gardens & Plas Newydd

The 80 acre National Trust property at Bodnant Gardens, one of the world’s most spectacular gardens, features huge Italianate terraces and stunning views across Snowdonia – continue to the 18th century National Trust property and gardens at Plas Newydd, one of the United Kingdom’s finest mansion house settings and the home of the Marquess of Anglesey.

Day 4 - Erddig & Chirk Castle

The National Trust’s Erddig property is one of the most fascinating houses in Britain with an evocative range of outbuildings and state rooms displaying most of their original 18th and 19th century furnishings – visit the National Trust’s Chirk Castle, a magnificent medieval fortress with elegant state rooms and fine furniture.

Day 5 - Powis Castle

The world famous garden at National Trust’s Powis Castle was laid out under the influence of Italian and French styles and retains its original lead statues, while the medieval castle contains one of the finest collections of paintings and furniture in Wales.

Thank you for a well organised holiday to Cheshire, Liverpool and North Wales. We had a great time, a new area of Britain for us, and your Blue Badge guides made it even more interesting. The quickly revised alternate Steam Train ride, and the refund of £15 per person for the Snowdon Mountain Railway, which was not running on the day, made it enjoyable.

We had a great tour to Cheshire! Many thanks again to Tailored Travel for getting everything sorted. The coach was on time and was really comfortable with plenty of leg room, leather seats and it was clean with rubbish bags for each pair of seats. The driver, Stuart, was excellent. Nothing seemed too much trouble for him. We arrived at all our destinations safely and on time. The Park Royal Hotel, Warrington is a really good and comfortable hotel. Everyone was very happy. The staff were efficient, friendly and very helpful and keen to make our stay as good as possible. The choices for the vegetarian options were unimaginative. We were very fortunate with our Blue Badge guides. Kate gave us two very interesting days and even managed to take a small group to the John Rylands Library which was much appreciated. Peggy and Liz showed us round Chester and each group was very happy with the tour they were given. Peggy also guided us to the Grosvenor Museum and gave us a very interesting introductory talk. These are three really good guides and made so much difference to our tour. I think we were all very pleased with the itinerary and all the places we chose to see. Powys Castle really was excellent. Thank you again Louise! You have done a wonderful job for us. We always enjoy dealing with you and everything was beautifully organised.
