Reviews for The Art of Tuscany & Umbria
I write to thank you for organising our super trip to Tuscany and Umbria. Your arrangements were excellent, thank you so much. Our members had a great time, all were much fitter after climbing up the Italian hill towns! Although that was offset by the five course meals and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano we ate and drank every evening. Thank you again Sandy.

A most ambitious and rewarding trip. We saw an astonishing amount in a short time of Italy's wonderful early art and architecture, much of which I had studied in my school days (many years ago, now) and never expected to see in its overwhelming reality. Tired? Yes, very, but the Basilica, the Campo Santo, the Duomo and the Torre of Pisa as the spectacular finale of a fascinating week banished all tiredness in a disbelieving delight! Many thanks for organising this!

I just wanted to let you know that everything went really well last week and to pass on my thanks to the team at Tailored Travel who made it possible. The coach transfers were excellent and ran like clockwork, despite our return flight being delayed. Ludo was there to meet us at Rome airport and was a great tour manager. He was highly organised, knowledgeable and considerate (especially to the more infirm members of the group). I cannot praise his professionalism enough. The same goes for our driver, Omar, safe, reliable and courteous. The hotel was great, if a bit far from some of our destinations. It was clean, staff were friendly and efficient. Breakfasts were excellent and those who dined in were pleased with evening meal. Local guides were excellent and the VOX headsets a boon. The scenery, cities, art and history were all stunning. However, we weren't prepared for the crowds at the Uffizi -on what turned out to be a public holiday! Never mind. To cap it all, every day was warm, sunny and dry! Several members have already asked me about the next one but I think I want a bit of a rest first before considering that!! Thanks again.

All safely returned to base from our holiday to Tuscany and Umbria!! A lot of driving and walking, so tired, but all worth it. The hotel very good but the position unbelievable, all claiming to have the best views of mountains and valleys from their rooms. Our tour manager was superb!! Great knowledge, not too much just exactly right for each location. Tireless in helping and well liked by all. The driver too very friendly and easy, our tour manager had a couple of ‘secret locations’ to show us not listed on the main itinerary, and often a driver would refuse if it was not on the list but not Guisseppi? So many thanks to you for all your help. I had a silk scarf and a card from the group to say thank you, so that was nice of them but not necessary.

I think everyone who took part would agree that the tour to Tuscany, Umbria and Florence was a real success. Of course, the art and historical sites were supreme but the pleasant weather, comfortable hotel and delicious local cuisine added to the enjoyment of each day. Our tour manager, along with our excellent coach driver, ensured that we always arrived safely and on time at each site and so we were really able to relax and take in the surroundings. Add to that a splendid and fun crowd of 44 members to travel with and it really was a perfect holiday!

Wow what a wonderful holiday we have all had thanks to you and your hard work. The Hotel was great. Whilst I was worried about only having two meals at the hotel, Michael’s recommendation to eat at the restaurant across the road was excellent and we all went several nights. Breakfast was purely continental but the yoghurt and pancakes were superb. The staff were most helpful and lovely to speak with. Michael excelled himself with our farewell dinner - it was superb in beautiful surroundings and the perfect end to a lovely holiday. Already members are asking ‘Where do we go next year?’. Indeed, where do we go? I am already looking at the brochure. Our tour manager, Ludo, was great. I think he was overwhelmed by so many ladies but we soon sorted him out. Marney our Friday guide was great, so lovely, took us a great tour in Orvieto (which was very windy) – she is so beautiful and so caring. Once again everyone from here would like to thank you for your great ideas. Here is to the next one! A big thank you from me.

I would like to add my appreciation of the recent holiday enjoyed by myself and other members of our Society; the arrangements were really excellent. From accommodation, travel, programmed and scheduled stops, and visits to places of interest. I would like to mention especially our excellent, kindly and extremely knowledgeable tour manager, Ludo, who made our visit particularly memorable by gently ‘taking us under his wing’ at all stages of our stay, and enabling us to get the very best from our holiday. Have enjoyed similar holiday in past years, but I consider this one was exceptionally good and enjoyable for the above reasons.

My husband died last year and, although I have been away with friends and family, this was the first holiday I have taken alone. Hence one final big THANK YOU for organising all this, I am so pleased that I plucked up the courage to go and I am sure we will all treasure the memories of places we visited and the new friends we made on the trip. Part of the enjoyment of this holiday was the company of like-minded people and getting to know about their varied and interesting lives.

Thank you for all your professional help and support in making our recent trip to Tuscany & Umbria so successful. We had the most fantastic time, we were well prepared, well informed and I knew you were only a phone call away. The itinerary was full and varied, the hotel warm and welcoming, the coach driver, Roberto, exceptional. And our meal in Villa Casa Grande – well what can I say! Just faultless! Thank you for your constant back up and support, and Tailored Travel for delivering again! Until the next time.

All the members of our group who went to Tuscany and Umbria arranged by you enjoyed it enormously. I have had only excellent reports of the holiday and all the care and consideration they received from your personnel.

We had a wonderful holiday to Tuscany and Umbria thanks to Tailored Travel. All the arrangements worked really well. Our tour manager, Lance, was terrific throughout the holiday. Very knowledgeable and, as far as the organisation was concerned, he shook everything off Don’s and my shoulders. It was a real holiday for us too. The hotel was excellent. We were all amazed at the amount of courses and choices we were offered at dinner. The rooms were comfortable and the swimming pool was a dream.
