Just a big thank you for organising the tour to Northern Spain - all went exceedingly well. We were very pleased with all the arrangements, the hotel, the trips, the coach and its driver - all went so well including our tour guide Paul, who was so informative, helpful, kind and engaging. Oh yes we also had a selection of wines with our evening meal and the Hotel Owner arranged a wine tasting evening also, very entertaining. Everyone on our tour was impressed. So again many thanks.

The brochure suggested that we should have great expectations for our holiday to Northern Spain and the Picos Mountains and I can assure you that we were absolutely delighted. We enjoyed a great hotel, great food and drink, wonderful locations to visit, great company and our fantastic tour manager Paul Richardson who also stayed at the hotel with us. We also discovered that our 4* Olimpo Hotel served generous quantities of wine with each of our evening meals. I recently went on a holiday with my U3A to the Olimpo Hotel in Playa de Isla. I would like to congratulate you on the quality of this holiday. The hotel and staff were both excellent and everybody I spoke to felt the same. Our tour guide Paul was very knowledgeable and was on call if ever he was needed him. In my opinion he did more than any tour guide I have ever had, was very friendly and amusing and I would recommend him to anyone.

Just a personal 'thank you' for all the help and support you gave us to make our recent visit to Northern Spain so successful. It all went very smoothly, and was a holiday we will not forget for a long time to come. The driver, Casper, was very good and the fact we had a Spanish speaking guest with us made sure we agreed all pick up and drop offs worked well. The hotel was exceptional - everyone was delighted with the comfort of the rooms and views from the balconies just breathtaking. The food and choices at all mealtimes was 5* and on the last day, we organised a 'Farewell Lunch' and there were as many photographs taken of the stunning dishes prepared for us as there were of the Picos Mountains! So please pass our grateful thanks on to the hotel, and we would all like to return sometime in the future. Stunning mountain gorges, sunlit Medieval villages, modern and prehistoric art, waves crashing against volcanic rock formations, peaceful sandy coves and unusual 'eccentric' stalactites. Northern Spain was introduced to our group of nearly 50 by Paul our good humoured and well-informed guide and Rosendo, our skillful coach driver. Unexpectedly good weather enabled us to enjoy the beautiful countryside at its best. We left our hotel in Isla each morning following a breakfast with choice enough to suit all palates confident that on our return the evening meal would delight. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful in meeting individual needs. Our leader Maureen's organisation was as usual amazing giving us all a wonderful holiday.

We have just been on the holiday to Northern Spain organised by yourselves. It was a splendid holiday and we would like to congratulate you on devising such a superb itinerary; in the allotted time we were able to visit the Picos Mountains, The Guggenheim Museum and one or two attractive Spanish villages. The hotel lived up to its 4-star level and no-one went hungry (or thirsty!). We were fortunate to have Paul as our Tour Manager and nothing was too much trouble for him - really did his utmost to ensure that we were comfortable and that no-one was left out. The coach driver was the smoothest driver I have met and he needed to be particularly vigilant in the mountains. Once again, Tailored Travel produced a superb Group Holiday which was thoroughly by all 47 participants.

Everything was spot on. The hotel was excellent - clean, comfy and very friendly and efficient staff. The bus driver was a gem - loads of local knowledge and a very safe driver. And as for Paul, the tour manager, he was fantastic. He never showed any signs of stress, although I'm sure he must have felt it sometimes. I am sure I was not the only one who was grateful for his kindness. As for his knowledge of the history and geography of Spain in general and the area in which we were staying in particular - it was first class.

Your tour manager, Paul, was also excellent: we appreciated his great knowledge of Spain and his command of Spanish language. We liked his very interesting, well-timed commentaries on the places we were visiting, his good provision for each stage of our daily trips, his real competence and good manner (and good jokes). He mixed very well with all of us joining, for instance, different groups for dinner.

The centres we visited: Bilbao (Guggenheim), Picos Mountains, the prehistoric caves at Altamira. These were good and important places well worth a visit.

The hotel was excellent.

All these features made it easy for us all to travel around, happy, relaxed and appreciative of such a varied programme.

Why more people don’t visit the area I cannot understand, but we appreciated the fact the streets were uncluttered and the roads not filled with heavy traffic!
