Day 1 – UK to Nice

Scheduled flight to Nice – transfer with our tour manager in our private executive coach to the 3* Hotel Kristall at Diano Marina.

Day 2 – Monte Carlo & Villa and Gardens of Ephrussi de Rothschild

Guided tour of Monte Carlo, the roulette capital of the world and winter shelter for the rich and famous, takes in the Casino and the cathedral where Princess Grace was married – continue to the Villa and Gardens of Baroness Ephrussi de Rothschild where, through the art dealers and experts she befriended, she transformed the villa at Saint-Jean Cap-Ferrat into a collector’s paradise.

Day 3 – Rapallo & Portofino

Travel along the Liguarian coast to Rapallo, where two post-World War II treaties were signed, and a haven for writers such as DH Lawrence and Ezra Pound – continue to Portofino where once only fishing boats docked in the narrow inlet, edged on three sides by high cliffs, but is now a berth for luxury yachts.

Day 4 – Genoa

Guided tour of Genoa takes in sights such as Piazzo San Matteo, the Church of Gesù and Palazzo Ducale – guided tour of Palazzo Rosso introduces us to a wonderful art collection including 17th century frescoes by Genoese artists such as de Ferrari and Piola, and paintings by Dürer and Carravaggio – afternoon visit to Belvedere di Castelleto, offering a wonderful panoramic view across the city – guided tour of Palazzo Reale introduces us to the ornate Rococo interior and a fine collection of paintings including works by Parodi, Carlone and a ‘Crucifixion’ by Van Dyck.

Day 5 – San Remo

Full day at leisure at San Remo, known as the city of flowers and sun, where you may choose to take a stroll along the famous palm lined promenade or visit Chiesa Russa, an authentic Russian Orthodox church in the city centre.

Day 6 – Nice & Matisse Museum

Guided tour of Nice takes in the narrow streets of the old town, the famous ‘Promenade’ and the heart of the city with its rich architectural and cultural heritage – the Matisse Museum boasts a wonderful collection of works left by Henri Matisse to the city of Nice where he lived from 1921 to 1954 – transfer to Nice Airport for our scheduled flight home.

Five nights on half board basis at the 3* Hotel Kristall at Diano Marina on the Italian Riviera. Centrally located and just 50 metres from the beach, the hotel has a bar, restaurant and swimming pool. All rooms are en suite.
