Day 1 – Hill House
Board our private executive coach at the designated pick up points – Charles Rennie Mackintosh’s Hill House at Helensburgh is considered to be one of his finest domestic creations and the feel of the house is of restrained elegance combined with dazzling architecture – check in to the 3* Argyll Hotel at Inveraray.
Day 2 – Arduaine Gardens, Ardfern & Oban
Guided tour of the National Trust for Scotland’s Arduaine Gardens with fantastic views of Asknish Bay and the Sound of Jura and where the rhododendrons bring enthusiasts from far and wide – Ardfern, where we have time for lunch and to explore at our leisure, is a busy marina village on Loch Craignish set amidst fantastic scenery – rest of the day is at leisure in Oban, gateway to the islands.
Day 3 – Isle of Mull & Iona
Take the ferry from Oban to the largest of the Hebridean Islands, the Isle of Mull, where a guided tour including a ferry crossing to the island of Iona introduces us to the rich cultural heritage of these beautiful Islands.
Day 4 – Inveraray Castle, Inveraray Jail & Cruachan Power Station
Inveraray Castle is a remarkable and unique piece of architecture incorporating Baroque, Palladian and Gothic and featuring four imposing French influenced conical spires – located in the former courthouse and prison for Argyll, Inveraray Jail recreates the story of the men, women and children who were tried in the original courtroom and served their sentences in the prison – Cruachan Power Station on the shores of Loch Awe is hidden deep within the mountain of Ben Cruachan and a guided coach tour takes us to the viewing gallery where the generating hall that houses the four generators producing electricity from water can be seen.
Day 5 – Falkirk Wheel
The Falkirk Wheel links two canals with water levels 115 feet apart, avoiding the traditional flight of 11 locks and the visit incorporates a memorable boat cruise – travel on to the original designated pick up points.

Reviews for West Coast of Scotland & the Isle of Mull
Date of tour: May 2016
Just back from Scotland after another very successful holiday. Everything went smoothly from the organisational point of view for which I thank the team at Tailored Travel - Damian who made several offers before we came up with the right one (28 people - my largest group), Sandy for her speedy responses and attention to detail and Simon who kept me up to date with payments. Hotels were very good and the food quality was good. Our driver Wayne met the high standard we were used to with Dave; he drove safely and was very flexible in terms of handling any requests. The group liked him. We were also very pleased with the guide in Edinburgh; she was well prepared, helpful and very ‘simpatica’. Finally but of course not least, we were blessed with exceptionally good weather which made a significant contribution to the overall experience. That's it. Thanks again to all the team at Tailored Travel.

I just write to tell you how much I enjoyed my recent holiday with you. I have used your company before with our local National Trust holidays every September and one of the reasons I booked was because I knew the high standards you adhere to. Our tour was very well organised. I wanted to get an ‘overview’ of the Scottish scenery and that’s exactly what I received. The Blue Badge guide was excellent; definitely a cut above the guides I usually encounter. She was extremely knowledgeable on a variety of subjects, expressed herself clearly and had a wonderful sense of humour. She gave us a most entertaining few days. The driver was also very competent, cheerful and professional and kept the coach spotless. So thank you again.
