Favourite destination: Tuscany and Umbria back in 2008 - it was just so delightful. Also Lake Maggiore with trips to the Borromean Islands and Villa Balbianello on Lake Como in 2011, wonderful!

Memorable moment: When we were in Austria in May 2010 and were stranded by the British Airways strike, Tailored Travel sent in the cavalry by means of a luxury coach and two drivers to take us on a six hour journey to catch a flight from Frankfurt.

What have been the holiday highlights in recent years? A day trip through the remote Picos de Europa mountains in Northern Spain and the Fuente Dé cable car ride to the top in 2012. Also the Postojna huge caves with large stalactites and stalagmites and the Brijuni Islands on the Croatian holiday in April this year.

Most enjoyable thing about being a GO: The enthusiasm, camaraderie and support of the holidaymakers.

Least enjoyable thing about being a GO: Having to tell would be holidaymakers that we cannot take them with us as they would not be able to cope with rigours of the holiday.

Top tip to other GOs: Be cheerful, remain positive and talk to everyone, but also be prepared to be firm in order to prevent minor irritations from escalating.
