ITINERARY
SUN - UK to Dubrovnik
Scheduled British Airways flight from London Gatwick to Dubrovnik (call for details of
regional flights) where we are met by our guide and executive private coach for the transfer
to the 3* Petka Hotel in Dubrovnik for our six night stay on bed and breakfast basis.
MON - Guided tour of Dubrovnik
We enjoy a drive along the coastal highway for a panoramic view of the city walls and
ancient rooftops followed by a guided walking tour through the UNESCO listed ancient
town. Surrounded by ramparts and fortresses, it is a treasure trove of architectural and
cultural masterpieces, scrupulously preserved over the centuries. Our tour includes a visit to
the Dominican Monastery and Museum and the Franciscan Monastery Museum with its
14th century pharmacy.
TUE - Trsteno & Ston
With its exotic vegetation and plants including giant plane trees, palms and camphor trees,
the Arboretum at Trsteno is a delight. After a leisurely stroll through the botanical garden,
we head for Ston one of the first towns in Europe to be built to a definite urban plan and
attracting hundreds of visitors to its five kilometre long stone walls. Other attractions include
the old Saltpan where salt is still being produced and the famous oyster and mussel farm.
WED - Dubrovnik
Today we have a day at leisure to enjoy the medieval town of Dubrovnik. Why not explore
the medieval walls which encircle the town, enjoy a boat trip to one of the surrounding
islands or simply relax on the beach.
THUR - Mostar
Our full day tour to Mostar introduces us to the varied cultures and religions that over the
centuries have left their mark. We drive along the coast to the town of Neum, and then
turn inland through the mountainous areas of Herzegovina. After a brief stop above the
Deransko Lake we drive along the Neretva River Valley to Mostar. During the Turkish rule,
the city was an important trade centre and our guided tour will show us the city highlights
including an old bazaar and the mosque. Our return drive takes us to Pöitelj, a picturesque
fortress town rich in oriental architecture.
FRI - Montenegro
The Montenegro Littoral provides stunning
natural beauty and an abundance of historical
sites. Our drive takes us to the mouth of the
Bay of Kotor through the most beautiful
parts of the bay to the towns of Risan and
Perast, boasting some of the best Baroque
architecture on the Adriatic. We travel on to
Kotor, a wonderful medieval town dating
from the 12th century and now a UNESCO
site.
Our descent from the heights takes us
to Cetinje, the one time seat of Montenegro
rule. After time for sightseeing, we return to
the coast with a short stop above Sveti
Stefan and Budva before a ferry ride across
the bay back to Dubrovnik.
SAT - Dubrovnik to UK
After the morning free in Dubrovnik we
transfer to the airport for our scheduled
British Airways flight back to London
Gatwick.
