Day 1 – UK to Valkenburg

Board with our tour manager our private executive coach at the designated pick up points – P&O Ferries crossing from Dover to Calais – continue to Valkenburg and check in to the family run 3* Best Western Hotel Walram.

Day 2 – Bastogne

The 101st Airborne Division fiercely defended Bastogne during the Battle of the Bulge and we visit the Bastogne Historical Centre with a unique collection of uniforms, vehicles and weapons involved in the battle – rest of the day is at leisure in Valkenburg to relax and explore this quaint Dutch town.

Day 3 – Maastricht, Liege & Aachen

Tour of the Three Countries’ taking in The Netherlands, Belgium and Germany – Maastricht is one of the oldest towns in the Netherlands – the Belgian city of Liege, the capital of Ardennes, is located on the banks of the River Meuse and its many fine museums reflect the city’s artistic and architectural heritage – the great Roman spa city of Aachen is home to one of Europe’s oldest and most dramatic cathedrals.

Day 4 – Cologne & Schloss Augustusburg

Guided tour of Cologne, the fourth largest city in Germany, takes in sights such as the Roman Tower, the Old Town Houses and the twin spired Gothic cathedral, containing many cultural and historical treasures including the 12th century Golden Shrine of the Three Magi – the UNESCO listed Schloss Augustusburg at Brühl impressively demonstrates the extravagant lives that the court of Electors and Cologne archbishops once led, and is well known for its staircase created by Balthasar Neumann and the extensive Baroque gardens.

Day 5 – Gardens of Annevoie

The classical Gardens of Annevoie, designed and laid out between 1758 and 1776 by Charles-Alexis de Montpellier, blend French 17th century rigour with English fantasy and Italian charm and are widely regarded as one of the best gardens in Belgium – travel to Calais for our P&O Ferries crossing to Dover and onward travel to our original pick up points.
