Day 1 - Dijon

Eurostar from London St Pancras Station to Gare du Nord in Paris - transfer with our tour manager in our private executive coach to the 3* Hotel des Ducs in Dijon.

Day 2 - Dijon & Route des Vins

Walking guided tour of Dijon taking in sights such as the Ducal Palace and the Cathedral of St Bénigue - drive along the ‘Route des Vins’ including a visit to the impressive Château du Clos de Vougeot, a former wine storehouse of Cistercian monks of Cîteaux - continue to Nuits-Saint-Georges for a tour and wine tasting at a local wine cellar.

Day 3 - Hôtel-Dieu & Beaune

Guided tour of the 15th century Hôtel-Dieu in Beaune, whose gloriously multicoloured roofs have become one of the symbols of Burgundy, taking in the great Salle des Pauvres decorated with unique coloured beams, treasure-filled rooms dedicated to Saints Anne, Nicolas, Hugues and the polyptych of the Last Judgement by Rogier van der Weyden - rest of the day at leisure to explore Beaune.

Day 4 - Château Cormatin, Cluny & Tournus

Guided tour of Château Cormatin, one of the most sumptuous châteaux in Burgundy, where a Renaissance garden has been added to complete the picture - the layout of the beautiful medieval town of Cluny is much the same as it was in the 12th century with many original ramparts, towers and gates and there is time to explore the Benedictine Abbey founded in 910 or the Museum of Art and Archaeology - visit Tournus where the rest of the afternoon is free.

Day 5 - Château de Vaux le Vicomte

En route to Paris we visit Château de Vaux le Vicomte, a Baroque gem located in Maincy, near to Melun where there is free time to explore and for lunch - head back to Paris for our Eurostar train to London.
