Day 1 – UK to Vienna

Scheduled flight to Vienna – transfer with our guide in our private executive coach to the 4* Hotel Ananas in Vienna.

Day 2 – Vienna

Guided city tour of Vienna seeing some of the beautiful imperial buildings of Vienna from where the Hapsburgs ruled the Austro- Hungarian Empire – afternoon free for you to explore Vienna or optional excursion to Schönbrunn Palace, one of the most important cultural monuments in Austria and originally the residence of the Hapsburg Empress, Maria Theresa – optional dinner at the restaurant in the Danube Tower.

Day 3 – Melk Abbey & Dürnstein

Melk Abbey, dramatically perched high above the Danube, is one of Europe’s greatest Baroque creations – time to explore the tiny village of Dürnstein, where Richard the Lionheart was held captive in 1192, with its old burgher houses and 16th to 18th century townhouses and the exquisite Baroque cathedral.

Day 4 – Vienna Woods

Scenic drive into the nearby Vienna Woods including a stop at Mayerling and the hunting lodge where Crown Prince Rudolph and his young mistress died in 1889 – optional concert this evening featuring music by Strauss and Mozart in the magnificent Schönbrunn Palace.

Day 5 – Vienna to UK
