Day 1 - Athens
Scheduled flight to Athens - transfer with our guide in our private executive coach to the 4* Hotel Titania in central Athens - dinner in hotel.
Day 2 - Athens guided tour, the Acropolis & Parthenon
Guided tour of Athens taking in Constitution Square (Syntagma), Parliament House, the Memorial to the Unknown Soldier and the National Library - see the Panathenaic Stadium (where the first Olympic Games of the modern era were held in 1896), the temple of Olympian Zeus and Hadrian's Arch en route to the Acropolis - on the Acropolis view the architectural masterpieces of the Golden Age of Athens: the Propylaea, the Temple of Athena Nike, the Erechtheion and of course the Parthenon.
Day 3 - Delphi
Drive through the fertile plain of Boetoia and the towns of Thebes connected with the tragedy of King Oedipus - on the slopes of Mount Parnassus lies Delphi, the centre of the Ancient world and famed throughout the ancient Greek world and beyond as the sanctuary of Apollo and the shrine of his oracle - visit the Treasury of the Athenians, the Temple of Apollo and the Museum containing such masterpieces of Ancient Greek sculpture as the bronze Charioteer of Delphi and the famous athlete Aghias.
Day 4 - Corinth Canal, Mycenae, Nafplion & Theatre at Epidaurus
Travel the coastal road along the Saronic Gulf to the Corinth Canal connecting the Aegean and Ionian Seas - at Mycenae, the Homeric city of the Atreides and the city ‘rich in gold’ of the ancient poets, visit sights such as the Lion's Gate, the Cyclopean Walls and the Royal Tombs - driving through the fertile plain of Argolis, stop at the picturesque town of Nafplion nestling at the foot of a cliff crowned by the mighty ramparts of the Palamidi Fortress - visit the 4th century BC theatre at Epidaurus famous for its astonishing acoustics.
Day 5 - National Archaeological Museum
The National Archaeological Museum in Athens houses art treasures of Ancient Greek civilizations spanning a period of 2,500 years including the Mask of Agamemnon, the Kouros of Anavissos and the famous Bronze Statue of Poseidon.
Day 6 - Temple of Poseidon
Driving along the coastal road and past the wonderful beaches of Glyfada, Vouliagmeni and Varkiza with splendid views of the Saronic Gulf, to the most southern point of Attica, Cape Sounion, where the white marble pillars of the Temple of Poseidon stand - time at leisure to walk on the rocky promontory of Sounion.
Day 7 - Athens
Transfer to Athens Airport for our scheduled flight back home.
