SUGGESTED ITINERARY
Day 1 UK to Lake Garda
Scheduled flight to Milan where we are met by
our tour manager and private executive coach for
the transfer to the 3* Hotel La Perla in the village
of Garda on Lake Garda for a seven night stay, six
nights on half board basis and one night on bed
and breakfast.
Day 2 Tour of Lake Garda
Today we have an included tour of Lake Garda with
our tour manager. This trip combines both coach
and boat and is a lovely way to see the real beauty
of the Lake and its villages including Sirmione,
home to Maria Callas, Limone and Gardone Riviera.
Day 3 Ferrara & Palazzo Schifanoia
The beautiful walled town of Ferrara is our
destination today. On arrival we have an included
guided tour of the magnificent Palazzo Schifanoia,
one of the many palaces of the d’Este dynasty and
home to the magnificent fresco of the Cycle of
Months. After time for lunch you are free to relax,
to visit the 12th century cathedral or simply to
explore at your leisure.
Day 4 Padua & Capella degli Scrovegni
Today Padua is our destination for an included
pre–paid entry to Giotto’s Capella degli Scrovegni.
After visiting the Chapel we have free time in Padua
for lunch before returning to Lake Garda in the late
afternoon for time to relax by the Lake.
Day 5 Vicenza
We enjoy a tour of the World Heritage listed town
of Vicenza today with a local city guide. The
wonderful villas of Palladio are the obvious
highlights, including La Rotonda, the Basilica
Palladiana and Teatro Olimpico.
Day 6 Mantova - Palazzo Ducale & Palazzo Te
This morning we visit Mantova where we have a
guided tour of the Palazzo Ducale and Mantegni’s
magnificent ‘Camera degli Sposi’. After time for
lunch, we visit the Palazzo Te with our guide to
see Giulio Romano’s ‘Room of Giants’.
Day 7 Verona
We have a full day in the beautiful Romanesque
city of Verona, often described as Italy’s fourth
classical city. Home to the Arena dating from 1BC
and Shakespeare’s inspiration for Romeo and
Juliet, on arrival we have a guided tour of the
Museo di Castelvecchio housing a wonderful
overview of Veronese paintings including works by
Pisanello, Veronese and Tintoretto. The rest of the
day is free to explore at your leisure, and in the
evening we have an optional farewell meal at our
carefully selected restaurant.
Day 8 Milan
We leave Lake Garda for Milan with a visit to
Leonardo da Vinci’s ‘Last Supper’. After some free
time we transfer to the airport for our flight back
to the UK.
