SUGGESTED ITINERARY
Day 1 UK to Berlin
Scheduled flight to Berlin where we are met by
our transfer representative for the transfer in our
executive coach to the 3* Hotel Orion for a four
night stay on bed and breakfast basis.
Day 2 Guided city tour & Neue National Galerie
Morning guided coach tour of Berlin taking in
such sights as the victory arch of the Brandenburg
Gate, the Reichstag, Check Point Charlie and the
Berlin Cathedral. In the afternoon we have a
guided tour of the Neue National Galerie (New
National Gallery) housing works by Oskar
Kokoschka, Otto Dix and many other 20th century
masters.
Day 3 Museum Island
Today we visit three museums on Museum Island
which ranks as one of the finest museum
complexes in the world. The Pergamon Museum
houses a section of the Pergamon Altar (180-159BC). We have a guided tour of the Old
National Gallery specialising in romantic 19th
century German art. The architecturally impressive
Altes Museum (Old Museum) houses
internationally renowned exhibitions.
Day 4 Potsdam & Sanssouci Palace
Included guided tour of Potsdam, a town set
amongst woodlands and lakes with opulent
palaces and gardens, including the delightful
Sanssouci Palace created in 1744 by Frederick who
patronised the fine arts and gave flute concerts
here. This evening there is the
option of dinner with wine at the Leibnitz
Klause restaurant.
Day 5 Charlottenburg Palace
For those not staying on for Dresden, we visit
Charlottenburg Palace. Set in a beautiful park and
the favourite palace of Frederick the Great, we go
from one breathtakingly splendid room to another
lavishly decorated in the rococo style and furnished
accordingly. Transfer to the airport for our
scheduled flight home.

Day 5 Meissen & Dresden
En route to Dresden we stop at Meissen to visit one
of the porcelain factories for which the area is
famous. Travel into Dresden to visit the Royal Palace
with its collection of fine silver and jewellery before
checking in to the 3* Ramada Treff Resident Hotel
for two nights on bed and breakfast basis.
Day 6 Zwinger Palace
The Zwinger Palace is the old fortress of Dresden.
The Old Masters Picture Gallery in the Palace is
home to works by the likes of Rubens, Canaletto,
Raphael, Titian, Rembrandt and Vermeer as well as
a wonderful Meissen porcelain gallery.
Day 7 Pillnitz Castle & Gardens
This morning we visit Pillnitz Castle and Gardens.
One of the area’s finest summer palaces, the
Castle lies picturesquely on the banks of the River
Elbe. With its flying buttresses and chimneys
ornamented with crowns, this is the only castle of
its size in Europe in Chinese style. Travel back to
Dresden by boat with lunch on board.
Day 8 Berlin to UK
We leave Germany today and transfer to Berlin for
our scheduled flight back to the UK
